Aircraft Ground Power Units

GSE Aero Solutions distributes AC 400 Hz ground power units and 28 VDC ground power units. The various units are manufactured by Hobart, Davco, S&S, Trilectron, FMC, JB, Unitron, Christie, and Tronair.

Tronair designs and manufactures 28.5 VDC diesel or gas ground power units, military solid state rectifiers, 400 Hz solid state ground power units, and solid state rectifiers. The 400 Hz GPUs are available with KVA rating ranging from 40 to 120, with voltages of 380 or 480. The 28.5 VDC GPUs provide 800 continuous amps and 2000 peak amps.

Start Pac produces a number of aircraft ground power units available with 200 amps, 250 amps, or 300 amps maximum DC loads. Rated at 3200, 2800, or 2400 peak starting amps, the power units can provide continuous 105, 175, or 58 amp DC output when connected to 110 volt or 220 volt AC.

Sky Geek's aviation management ground power units provide 1800 peak amps, 2400 peak amps, or 4500 peak amps - with 28.5 volts DC output if plugged into AC power. Designed to perform aircraft starting and maintenance functions, the ground power units are used on Beechcraft King Air models, Citation 500 and 550 series, Embraer Bandierante 110, Cessna Caravan 208, and Piper Cheyenne Series aircraft.

Mark C. Pope Associates line of aircraft ground support equipment includes Hobart-brand ADV 400 Hz 115/200 VAC solid state frequency converters, 28.5 VDC engine powered ground power units, 28.5 volt DC solid state rectifiers, and 400 Hz 115-200 AC engine powered units.

Unitron LP manufactures dual output, solid-state AC-DC ground support equipment that features output power of 20 KVA to 90 KVA AC. The equipment is available in mobile, towable, boarding bridge-mount, or fixed configurations. The company also offers 4-in-1 preconditioned air systems that provide 400 Hz and feature a GPU power rating of 37.5 KVA to 90 KVA DC.

Power Conversion Technology Inc. distributes 60Hz to 400Hz DSP-controlled frequency converters used for aircraft ground support of Army helicopters. The ground power units feature two outputs that enable powering of two aircraft simultaneously. The units are UL 1012 compliant and conform to MIL-STD-704F standards.

Anderson Airmotive Products produces ground power connectors, receptacles, and cable assemblies. The company's ground power connectors are made from Hypolon and feature heavy silver-plated tellurium copper contacts with quad beams and engineered steel springs.
